It's December already and the holidays knocking on your door. It's time for the contest "We and the caves". This is the fifth time, at the end of the year, when our speleo photo contest is beginning. It is the second time, when it is Balkan's status. With th? support of Balkan Speleological Union, the contest unites the cavers who's hobby is photography and the friends of the caves from the Balkans with their best pictures from the past year. These photographs express the emotions from the beauty of the underworld and share them with the other cavers.

The Balkan's status of the contest doesn't exclude participants from other countries. 98 authors took part in In the last year's contest. They were not only from the Balkan countries but f...rom Austria, Argentina, Brasilia, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Moldova, Romania, Russia, USA, Slovakia, Ukaraine and other countries with 497 photos. It wasn't easy for the jury to decide which were the best. Exibition with them was shown at the Balkan cavers camp 2011 in FYRO Macedonia.

This year the rules of the contest are the same. Again the prizes will be cave equipment and we are goint to make an exbition in sumer 2012 in Slovenia. And before the end of this year we are going to print a calendar with the best photos from the last contest.

Second Balkan Photo contest  „We and the caves”
All speleologists and cave friends are invited to send their photographs. Every contestant can participate with up to 8 photos – 4 in the two categories:
1. People underground.
2. Beauty of the caves.

Photographs must be sent by e-mail to we.and.caves@gmail.com until 15.01.2012.

Requirements:
The photographs must be from 2011, and have title, author and place(the cave). All digital files must be 4 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).

With sending the photographs authors agree that they can be used by the organizers in exhibitions, posters, calendars, advertising materials for popularization of speleology.
The selection committee (consists of 5 people) up to 15th February 2012 will elect the winners: first, second and third place in every category. The best photographs will be awarded with charters and prizes. An exhibition with photographs from the contest will be organized during The Balkan Cavers Camp in Slovenia.
